Paul writes to the church in Thessalonica about the great privilege of caring for one another: “And we exhort you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone” (5.14). A church family seeks to care for one another during life's many challenges, temptations, wanderings, brokenness and hurts. Alongside many of the daily challenges, many also experience isolation, mental and spiritual challenges, discouragements, and often quiet hurts.

Our church provides care and counselling for those in our congregation. We seek to be a family that listens, loves, speaks, and journeys with those who struggle. We meet with those who need to talk and have their voice heard so they know they are not alone. We also journey with those struggling with relational challenges and brokenness. As Paul mentions, time can be spent warning, comforting, and patient journeying with various people. While these can not be easy times for many as the struggle remains, we can love, listen, discover God’s wisdom together and love the vulnerable in times of need.

Our Approach

We believe that God personally speaks to us through the Bible…

We believe the Bible is more than a book of facts and stories; its truths meet us where we’re at and make a difference in our lives. God desires His truth to touch and transform every area of our lives. We understand that everyone faces moments when the truths of the Bible don't seem to make a difference. "Can the hope that the Bible offers really speak to my loneliness, to the pains of my past?" "Can the peace that the Bible promises really help my anxiety?" "Can the love that is revealed in the Bible change even my marriage?" At Grace, we believe that the Bible speaks into all of life's problems, and in certain seasons of life each of us may need the careful thought and prayerful wisdom of another to help us make the connections that make a difference.

Biblical Care is About Finding Rest and Relationship in Christ

The Bible speaks to every area of our lives, but the Bible isn't simply a recipe book for happiness. Ultimately, the Bible points us to a relationship with a person—Jesus Christ. The Bible was given to reveal Christ as the one who is able to make all things new. We believe real and lasting hope occurs when people know themselves and their problems within a living and vital relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are Here Ready to Help

The most important qualification of our counsellors is that they have come to know Christ out of their own experiences of need. They bring the understanding and compassion experienced in their own relationship with Christ into their care for those who come to them for help. Furthermore, our counsellors have formal education and training in counselling and in the Bible.

We Journey With and Care for One Another

We believe that it is the calling of every believer to journey with one another through the ups and downs of life. The New Testament includes around 59 ‘one another’ statements that among other things teach us to 1) love one another 2) show grace to one another 3) speak truth to one another and 4) share hope with one another. As we journey with those who come for biblical care/counselling, we seek to do these things. Wherever you are in your journey and whatever it may be that you’re struggling with, you are welcome to join us. Our desire is to care for you as Christ cares for us.

We prioritize providing care for those in our congregation.

Our main focus is offering biblical care and counselling to members (or adherents) of our congregation who are in need. We understand that there are many needs within our congregation and community, but we have limitations and want to ensure that we can provide the best care possible to those who are part of our Grace Bible Church Community. Our ultimate goal is to shepherd and love them well, as stated in 1 Peter 5:2-3.

We are Clinically Informed

We are not reductionistic nor secular in our approach, but rather interpret the complexity of the human condition (body & soul) through the comprehensive Biblical revelation of God. Our care follows Jesus’ example by considering a person's physical, emotional, and spiritual realities. We provide care according to the insight and direction of the Bible, while utilizing the common grace findings of research and psychology to inform our methods of personal care.

Our Care

We offer care to those in our congregation in the following ways;

Individual Counselling

We offer counselling to struggling individuals to journey with them and help them deal with complex life situations and challenges.

Relationship & Marriage Counselling

We offer counselling to dating men and women and married husbands and wives, who find themselves needing wise and compassionate help for complex relational and marital dynamics.

Family Counselling

We offer counselling to families who could benefit from having an outside voice offering hope and help in the midst of hardship.
